 On Faithfulness What are the qualitative and quantitative metrics that the Ohio Conference uses to assess its progress and faithfulness to its mission and purpose? The following are the "Dashboard Indicators" that help answer that question: 1. Are the reports we are receiving, the stories we are hearing, and the actions we are seeing in congregations and schools pointing to a growing movement of people toward Christ, the Gospel, toward deep love for God and genuine love for people? 2. Are we hearing fresh stories that give evidence of Adventist congregations and schools that are increasingly becoming a transformational and redemptive presence in their communities? Are increasing numbers of them expanding their approaches to ministry and mission to their communities? 3. Are we finding evidence that an increasing number of congregations have charted a clear course of action and direction in alignment with their values, vision, mission, and goals? 4. Is the consistent and dominant message that the Ohio Conference sends centered on "salvation through grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone," and on incarnational and transformational mission? Does the message clearly present biblical spirituality as an intellectually, socially, and culturally engaged experience? 5. Do our actions and relationships -- our preaching, teaching, event-planning, and other services and ministries--affirm and confirm that we are committed to the continuing quest for truth, based on sound biblical scholarship, a love for learning, and a deep respect for intellectual investigation? 6. Do our actions and relationships -- our preaching, teaching, event-planning, and other services and ministries--affirm and confirm our commitment to the spiritual values of unity in Christ and diversity in fellowship within the Body of Christ? 7. Is our vision, mission, strategies, and leadership paradigm stimulating inquiry, debate, exploration, study, and conversations among members in Ohio, and is it receiving attention outside of Ohio? |
